Why are these nuts are so fat in them? They are sweet, good old raw almonds. He says there are 14g of fat per serving! Is not this a lot? Or is it a kind of bacon? Should I stop eating them?
Almonds are the kind of bacon ..... you should eat a few nuts of all kinds, every day, good for vitamin E
The evolutionary response to "why":
nuts lighter and better disperse seeds, which is important as a seed that lands in its own shade of the tree is unlikely to develop. Fat has over twice as much energy per gram than carbohydrates or proteins. So there is an evolutionary advantage for nuts and seeds of their stored energy as fat calories, instead of twice the same mass of sugar or starch. In other words, fats are not necessarily added to nuts and seeds during treatment, the fat is naturally present.
The nutritional response to "should I stop?"
The fat in nuts and seeds is mostly unsaturated fat - in the case of almonds, 12 or 13 grams unsaturated, 1 or 2 grams saturated. Like all fats, and carbohydrates and proteins, unsaturated fats will lead to excess weight if consumed in excess. Unlike saturated fats, unsaturated fats does not increase LDL "bad" cholesterol or total cholesterol, it may even increase HDL "good" cholesterol. Also, almonds are rich in other nutrients: protein and fiber that help you feel full and other benefits, the antioxidant vitamin E (natural oil that keeps them from going rancid) and calcium for strong bones. So if your energy balance is right - to equal the calories calories and a healthy weight today - almonds are nutririous part of your plan.
Government guidelines:
UK FSA: No more than 35% of daily calories from fat total. Not more than 11% of calories from saturated fat. No specific limit on the unsaturated fatty acids.
FDA: No more than 30% of their daily calories from fat total. Not more than 10% of calories from saturated fat. No specific limit on the unsaturated fatty acids.
So, put 14 grams of total fat and 1 or 2 grams of saturated fat in perspective. The guidelines say approximately 60-90 grams of fat per day in total, and 20-30 grams of saturated fat per day, depending on your total calorie needs.
Lipids, proteins, carbohydrates and 3 of the human body necessary things need to survive. (Needs include water and inorganic minerals). I'm sure you have heard of essential fatty acids. Need lipids (fats). They are in the lining membrane of each cell of our body. Almonds are an incredible source of "good fats, proteins and" good carbs "all in one package incredible!
All nuts are fat.
Regardless of whether there is salt or not.
Why ask?
The nut of all is bold, simple.
What do you think of almonds were made of water?
All nuts are mostly fat. Yes, it is "good" fat, but really any type of vegetable oil is a better thing to eat instead of animal fats like butter or lard.
"Good" Fat is a very misleading title. People end up thinking they can gorge on peanut butter and nuts and pizza with olive oil, but it's all fat. Yes good fat (sigh) but it is FAT!
Anyway, almonds have cyanide and other nutrients good. It is better to eat pork scratchings.
It is quite normal. Seeds and nuts are rich in fat to begin with, but it is good fat. If you look up the weight Limit your intake of them because they are rich in calories, but they are far from being bad for you. Almonds have been shown to lower cholesterol and are a good source of vegan / vegetable protein. They are also great if you leave them in cold water overnight.
There is a lot .. but all almonds hare a lot of fat in the .. salty and salty raw / cooked and ...
This is the kind of bacon Tho .. moderation of course ..
do not go and eat the whole bag.
