Dark Chocolate Chex MixPosted on February 15, 2010. Recipes easy kid - An Early Christmas Treat This is the season for joy - or the song says. But for us, Christmas is not just giving and decorating trees and all that plume ... it is also the time to show our mini-me is also the time to nutritious and healthy snacks for children - the same as what you have done for the last year (actually, since they are born). Children around the world anticipate the only holiday in the world where they are usually allowed to splurge and excessive alcohol, especially when it comes to food. As parents need to remember that we were once children too ... would you want to spoil the fun for them? But fortunately, with the luxury of "unnecessary" food comes several additions to them. (For example, if you bake cookies - that we have here - you can supplement that with a little milk for extra calcium.) Here are some recipes that deserve a test-run before the day of the Big Red letter. (If I refer to particular brands, it just means that I recommend, but you can replace what you want for a specific ingredient): Ultimate Trail Mix (perfect in-between snacks) Ingredients: 2 kg of mixed nuts, 10 of an ounce and a half A-Cheerios (or any other similar product), one ounce package of Wheat Chex 12, 6 half-ounce of Rice Chex, a small bag of pretzel sticks, 2 cups salad oil, 1 tablespoon of garlic salt, 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, salt to taste. Procedure: Place dry ingredients in a large roasting pan. Add Worcestershire sauce, salad oil and pour over dry mixture and stir. Bake at 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Snowball Cookies Ingredients: 1 cup butter or margarine, 1 teaspoon vanilla, ½ cup white sugar powder (sifted), 2 ½ cups sifted flour,-fourth teaspoon of iodized salt a quarter- cup chopped pecans three. Procedure: Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cream butter in a bowl. Add sugar and cream again until light. Stir in vanilla. In another bowl, stir together flour and salt, add cream to mixture. Add nuts. Form balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for about 15 minutes. From the oven balls roll in more powdered sugar and let cool. Roll in sugar again after cooling. Santa Smoothie Ingredients: 2 bananas, 1 cup milk (whole milk preferred) tablespoons of dark chocolate chips 3 (regular chips would do well too),-fourth teaspoon of one of the vanilla extract.
