No.
This is a Prunus (cherry) that needs full sun to do well. If planted in the shade and watch it be sickly and flowers are rare.

I saw the flowers in full sun.
Generally there is a lot of flowers best in full sun.

Mine grow with the light and bloom beautifully difused. They are under the trees which protect from the sun.
