Graham Cracker Toffee Bars

Posted on February 10, 2010.
Graham Cracker Toffee BarsNeed help determining the basis of flour to the bar caramel?

It was a recipe in a cookbook by Betty Crocker at least 30 years. He says you need to mix the flour with egg * * I think for a basic bar with caramel. When your mix is it looks like a crumbly mess that you press into the pan, then you cook a little and then put the caramel on top to cook for another 20 minutes.

All recipes caramel bar im finding now excluded from the basis that I really love. Kinda gives it some teeth

Last time I used it, it sort of reminds me of graham cracker crust because of the consistency.

it is not exactly like you described, but since you're familiar with what the recipe is suppose to look like you can see this site as it has tons of recipes Betty Crocker on her.

Do not think that what you are looking for, but here's a recipe.

Caramel Crispy Squares

There are at least three reasons that we call "divine" ... crispy crust, chocolate filling and delicious creamy caramel in between!

Preparation time: 20 minutes
Serve: 24 seats
Ingredients
175 ml (¾ cup) crispy rice cereal
125 ml (½ cup) all-purpose flour
75 ml (1 / 3 cup) packed light brown sugar
1 ml (¼ tsp) baking soda
Pinch of salt
75 ml (1 / 3 cup) butter, melted
300mL (1 can) Eagle Brand ® Sweetened Condensed Milk Regular
125 ml (½ cup) packed light brown sugar
125 ml (½ cup) butter

Garnish
300 ml (1 ¼ cup) puffed rice cereal
250 ml (½ cup) chocolate chips semi-sweet, melted
Preparation:

1. Combine cereal, flour, sugar, soda and salt. Pour the melted butter, stirring until completely soaked. Press onto bottom of a parchment paper-lined 8 x 8 inch (2 L) pan. Bake in center of preheated 350 ° F (180 ° C) for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
2. In a heavy saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar Eagle Brand. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 8 minutes, stirring constantly, until golden brown. Spread over crust.

Trim:
3. Stir the melted chocolate with the rice cereal until well-coated. Using two forks, spread evenly over filling. Refrigerate until set. Cool at room temperature before serving.

Usually this kind of cookie bar has a base of shortbread - flour, sugar and butter. You can add nuts, etc if you want. Find a recipe for lemon bars, or bars, pecan, for a database.

Search bar recipe lemon is the same basis. It is basically a pie crust, pastry, like, you press the up equipment. Or a shortbread might work.
