Healthy Halloween Party Snacks

Posted on February 17, 2010.
Healthy Halloween Party SnacksLooking for healthy snacks for a Halloween toddlers?

I need some ideas for healthy snacks for my grandchildren one year old son first birthday. This will be the theme of Halloween. So far, I could not find pieces of apple dipped in caramel. Ideas?

Grapeseed frozen

pieces of banana on a stick rolled in a bit of chocolate or peanut butter and crushed Cheerios

carrot sticks

Make your own gelatin squares using gelatin and fruit juice rather than store bought baby Jello. You control the sugar and fruit juice for babies is better than artificial flavors.

Make your own chicken fingers using boneless chicken breasts and bake instead of frying. You can also make your own honey mustard sauce. Or a type of ranch dressing with yogurt instead of sour cream.

frozen French fries can be cooked in a hot oven. Instead of a flat sheet, use one of these grids placed on the pan. In this way, warm air can surround the chips and make them extra crispy without frying.

Any type of fruit cut up and served on a stick is fun. Or not with sticks, use a piece of celery. You have to make the first hole.

If all children are toddlers, they do not care if the food may seem scary or not.

If you have older children, I had English muffins, a little spaghetti sauce, canned. I put some chopped pepperoni, cheese and small amounts of other fixin pizza and let them assemble their own mini pizzas. I put them in the oven and took them out. The kids loved it. All went home happy because they cooked something.

I also made a dessert called "Dirt." My new made some small plastic flower pots. I have the dollar store. wash them thoroughly, put a spoonful of vanilla pudding in the bottom, then crushed Oreos and chocolate pudding and crushed oreos on top. I then put some gummy worms in each pot so as to exceed the rim. Get it to a lousy with Oreos, so it looks like they are out of the hole. Children and adults loved it. Make them small, is rich.

Here are some cute ideas:
