What is your light backpack favorite foods? I'm looking very good, nutritious recipes and backpack for travel ultralight. A list of your favorites here as well as instructions for 10 points for best answer. Then go to http://www.ultimate-ultralight-backpacki ... and share it with other hikers.
Ultra-light, food bag? I would also add easy to make this request.
Breakfast: Instant Oatmeal, milk (I make milk and mix it with water. It tastes ok), dried fruit (like apricots, peaches, mangoes, grapes or pineapple). You can grind and add to cereal or them stew in the morning. I also bring a bit of brown sugar to sprinkle on top of oatmeal.
Lunch: salami or summer sausage (it Bring the stick rather than packaged sliced as it lasts longer), hard cheese (Keep it cool or he runs), crackers, trail mix (I do this with great Dried fruit and nuts), peanut butter, dried fruit (I always like to pack some apples and carrots, even if both are heavy to carry), mix lemonade (add to your treated water)
Dinner: Lipton rice or pasta envelopes, or even macaroni and cheese boxes Spanish rice mix. You can add canned tuna, salami, frozen chicken, canned vegetables, dried into an easy to prepare, one pot dish. For dessert, you can remove cookies or make instant pudding (When I make chocolate pudding now, I still add the instant coffee to make a Mocha. Smores are good (make graham crackers, marshmallows and bars Hershey). Hot Cocoa is as good (again, add the marshmallows, and instant coffee if you wish)
It is always good to try your dishes at home and see if they taste good. Make small bundles of herbs and seasonings may be useful and a taste of a dish much better. If it tastes good at home, it tastes great outdoors.
