Marshmallow HerbPosted on February 7, 2010. When taking marshmallow root as an herbal supplement, should be taken separately from other vitamins? From what I read marshmallow root should be taken separately from other drugs because it can reduce their effects, but does not hold the same applies to other herbs? I am taking fenugreek and blessed thistle with him and would not impede their effects by taking the root of marshmallow. Herbs that are rich in mucilage, such as marshmallow, elm and psyllium should not be taken in at least one hour of other herbs, vitamins, supplements or medications the mucilage will significantly reduce the absorption all that is in the stomach. marshmallow root coats the lining of the stomach with mucilage - I think that is why it is taken separately. Should not affect other herbs you named a lot. If they are the form of three different capsules, just wait 15-20 minutes after the blessed thistle before taking marshmallow if you wish. If they are liquids that will not make any differance at all. Marshmallow and Fenugreek are often taken together ulcers. Stay away from herbal supplements. All fans of herbs that you do not realize that you are taking potentially dangerous quantities of unknown substances, defendants, and not tested, some of which are very toxic. These products are not regulated and when random tests showed large variations in chemical composition from one batch to another, including many contaminants (heavy metals like lead included). You do not buy a car without knowing what's under the hood, you do not buy food without having read it ingredients - why yourself with poison unknown chemicals regulated? Most healthy people do not need vitamins or any type of food supplement to all. CommentsThere are no comments.Leave a Comment |
