Nutritious Snacks For Kids

Posted on February 6, 2010.
Nutritious Snacks For Kidsideas for nutritious snacks for children?

We have put into bad habits with our children aged 11.7, and 6. What are healthy snack ideas for children after school. They are very picky. They eat carrots and celery and cheese, but it does not seem to fill them. Although they are accustomed to eating biscuits, bread and popcorn. They like most fruit, but they do not just eat an orange as they try to eat 5. We try to eat healthily and cut out cookies, crackers, candy, ice cream ... all events.

Celery with peanut butter. Ricecakes, popcorn is good. Do what you want them to eat. It takes the problem of feeding a large part of their hands.

-Carrots and light ranch
-Celery and peanut butter
Popcorn-can actually be healthy if you buy the right (without pots of butter in it)
-Apples are very filling
- A few whole wheat crackers (fiber makes you feel full!)

Try mixing and matching as a carrot and a little pair of cracker that way you feel like you've eaten more than you actually

Maybe try some cereal bars or granola bars?

My favorite snack guide http://www.snacksnoop.com. The site has an area of Kid friendly snacks here:

I hope this is helpful.

BANANA AND STRAWBERRY SMOOTHIE! mix 'em with milk and sugar and voila! He is your healthy snack and deeeelicioous .. Believe me, I know .......^_^

The fruits and vegetables is a good idea. Peanuts are also good because they have a lot of fat and protein.

dried fruit, raisins, bananas, pineapple, papaya, etc.
-As of fresh fruit: watermelon, bananas, apples, oranges, cherries, strawberries

What's wrong with eating as 5? It is super healthy. Until they get a variety ...

Pitta-bread / carrot / celery with dips. Dips are quite filling.
In-oats
-Smoothies.
Crepes
sherbet-fruit.
black chocolate
-Seeds & Nuts

I think that in this school after lunch, you have to throw in some protein too. Fruits and vegetables are good, but as you said, they are not very filling. Me personally, I like to go for an apple, but I'm having a bit of peanut butter to go with him .. it is relatively healthy and peanut butter, it is filling.

Beware of giving them only while fruits and vegetables, because most of those who are rich in complex carbohydrates, or be a negative calorie food (burn more calories to digest and consume), it definitely make it more hungry that much sooner. (What you've known.)

It is not wrong to indulge in some sweets from time to time, but said the food pyramid, sparingly. I hope this was of some use to you!
