Organic Dried Cherries

Posted on February 11, 2010.
Organic Dried CherriesHow are they nuts? ?

I love dried fruit. I went to Fairway and today I bought a container of dried strawberries, dried cherries, raisins, dried apricots, dried peaches French, prunes, raw cashews, raw almonds and dried peas. Now, all these elements are Fairway brand I trust. They say organic on them and almost all of them say that the ingredients of fruit and sulfur dioxide as a preservative. and others just say the ingredients are fruit and nothing else. Are they healthy snack? If so .. which one of those I listed are the healthiest?

The dried fruit has not added healthy ingredients. There are many brands that freeze dried fruit like "Just Fruit" and "Funky Monkey" - you can buy in most health food stores like Whole Foods or Trader Joes. If you eat dried fruit without added ingredients, it is the same as the coordinate of the normal food from a nutritional standpoint. But you might not get as full as it will not have much water it contains. You can try frozen fruit, like cherries, blueberries, etc.

Here is a blog about themes like this:

Dried fruits are high in calories and sugar, but if eaten in moderation and with plenty of water to drink, it is much better than candy. Sulphur dioxide is not necessary.
Dried Cherries are anti-inflammatory, and have more antioxidants, so I would say they are the best, but all fruits are good
raw nuts are good for you, even if the United States you can not legally buy raw almonds really. Dried peas are delicious and better for you than chips, but not very rich in nutrients
