Posted on February 10, 2010.
Peanut Butter Chex MixPeanut butter, chocolate Chex mix, powdered sugar?

When I was in college I mad this Chex mix with a hand and a chocolate peanut butter side with cover.I Suger Powder think that is how it was done. Whats the correct way to?

Chex Muddy Buddies

9 cups Chex cereal (corn, rice and / or wheat)
1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet
1 / 2 cup of peanut butter
1 / 4 cup margarine
1 tsp tea. vanilla
1-1/2 cups powdered sugar
Itinerary:
1. cereals in a large bowl and set aside.

2. In a bowl in the microwave one-quarter of the combined chips semi-sweet chocolate, peanut butter and margarine. Microwave on HIGH 1 to 1-1/2 minutes or until smooth, stirring after 1 minute. Stir in vanilla.

3. Pour chocolate mixture over cereal, stirring until all pieces are well coated. Pour cereal mixture into a large resealable plastic bag with powdered sugar. Close tightly and shake until all pieces are well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool.

One of my friends in California have discovered that we can not Chex Mix in Canada (not that I can find anyway!), So she sent me this site with recipes for a bunch of different types:

Hope this helps!

I make mine like the one who gave the recipe to friends or Chex muddy it was called, but we always called our "puppy chow" because that's what it looks like!

Oh my god it's good! One of my favorites! They are called buddies muddy, and there are some other names for em. The better way is with a cereal called CRISPIX, which is a mixture of rice and corn, so if you can not use a little rice and some corn Chex. So you are about to use a jar of creamy peanut butter and a bag of chocolate chips and melt them together, either in microwave or on stovetop. Add the cereal and let them dry on a cookie sheet. Then put in a large ziploc bag ol and dump a pile of powdered sugar on it and shake to mix and coat. Yum. Ok, you can also try the official recipe below)
