Snack Food RecipesI would like some ideas / recipes for snacks for the beach.?

Maybe some kind of snack mix is kid-friendly and easy to carry.

My kids love the Cheez-It Party Mix. Sometimes we add M & M's.

Blueberry Trail Mix .. get all your stuff and mix until fav .. dried fruits and m & m's ..... gold fish, chopped apples in advance so they are ready to eat ... grapes and good and cold .. freeze them before leaving

Dry foods, cold foods. get any sand to make plates and make the children sit to eat, not carried in a bag of chips you're all sharing. Cold pizza is good at the beach.

trail mix or dried fruit, cookies, fruit snacks, chips. If you bring a cooler, fresh vegetables or pita sandwiches are nice.

Home Energy Bars

Ingredients

1 egg
1 / 2 cup brown sugar
V. L tea. vanilla
The cup granola
1 / 2 cup raisins (or other chopped dried fruit)
1 / 2 cup chopped hazelnuts (or your favorite nut)
1 1.69 oz pkg. M & M's chocolate candies

Instructions


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Generously butter or oil 8 - x 8-inch square pan (preferably nonstick). Crack the egg into a medium bowl. Add the sugar and vanilla extract and mix well.

Stir in cereal, raisins, nuts and M & M's and mix until smooth.

Transfer to the pan and spread evenly on the bottom, pressing firmly with your hands.

Bake for 25 minutes. Cool and cut into bars or squares.

For 8-12.



Smoked Turkey Apple Wheelies

This sandwich wrap, the new book Wrap It Up (Three Rivers Press), is very low in fat, but you can not miss it. You can buy the smoked turkey and lavash flat bread in the deli section of most supermarkets.
Ingredients


2 / 3 cup plain low-fat
1 1 / 2 to 2 tbsp. drained bottled horseradish, to taste
4 lavash squares (about 8 x 10 inches)
8 large lettuce leaves red
The pound sliced smoked turkey
Apple the company, such as Granny Smith or Cortland, cored and sliced

Instructions


Mix the yogurt and horseradish in a small bowl. Spread each square with lavash 1 tablespoon horseradish mixture.

Top each with two leaves of lettuce and one quarter of Turkey. Spread another tablespoon of sauce on top, then cover with quarter apples. Roll and wrap well in plastic.

When you're ready to eat, cut in half. Now, cut into 2-inch "wheelies", attached toothpick, if necessary.
Serves 4.

COOKING TIP:
For children, replace the horseradish, yogurt with the mayonnaise. If you can not find lavash, substitute flour tortillas burrito-size and soften according to package directions.


Potato Salad Rainbow

Ingredients

3 c. soup. red wine vinegar
2 v. tea. Dijon mustard
2 green onions, sliced
1 1 / 2 tsp tea. salt
1 / 4 c.. pepper
3 c. soup. olive oil
1 / 4 cup chicken broth
4 carrots
1 / 4 lb. fresh green beans
2 lbs. new potatoes, unpeeled

Instructions


Mix the vinegar, mustard, green onions, salt and pepper in large bowl. Whisk olive oil and chicken broth.

Peel carrots and cut diagonally. Break the ends of green beans and cut them on an angle into three. Bring a large pot of water to a boil, add potatoes and cook until tender, about 25-30 minutes (do not overcook). During the last 1-3 minutes, add the vegetables, then drain.

Quarter or slice the potatoes and add to vegetables in bowl with vinaigrette. Mix and refrigerate for 1 hour or until ready to eat. 4-6 servings.

trail mix is definitely the best butyou should also bring a lot of drinks and maybe even ice pops, if you HAV.
