Tortilla Bags

Posted on March 2, 2010.
Tortilla BagsWhat would you do with a big bag of corn chips?

Someone gave us a large (bulk size) bag tortilla chips. We're not the type to sit and eat all with a big bowl of salsa ... but do not want to go to waste. I really want to freeze meals in advance (plus we have a baby due in 4 weeks) and I'm looking for ideas of what to do with these chips so they do not go to waste . I heard can be frozen tortilla chips. Anyone freezable recipes that I could use them for other ideas? THANKS!

ohh yeah! the big bag of tortilla chips .... If I were you I buy dips: salsa, cream cheese or mayo dips you buy in local stores and invite some friends for a movie night .... and order a cheese pizza with big chilli powder .... yumm .....

Try this recipe for tortilla mecican DIP:
Ingredients
1 can Stagg Chili
1 8 oz cream cheese (softened)

Itinerary:
Mix well. Top favorite Mexican cheeses. Microwave until warm. Serve with chips.

Enjoy!

Some of them may be crushed and used as bread crumbs. Try substituting cooked chicken fingers crushed chips to corn flakes. Pan Fried Catfish with a crust and a smart squashed fruit salsa Nice would be great. Alternatively, combine the chips with shredded cheddar cheese, or just made to make a filling for a dish - maybe zucchini, tomatoes, green onions mixed and cooked under the lining.

In addition, you can make pots based on a recipe using the chips and enchilada filling up alternately filling material in a tortilla. Am sure that this concoction would freeze.

Personally, I do not eat the whole bag ... I am a sucker for absolute chips.

Tortilla chips are so versatile you can use them for snacks. top it with refried beans, sliced black olives, diced tomatoes and shredded cheese and salsa for a snack. it with diced potatoes Top poiled, bhel mix and cutneys for a snack India. Crumble and use instead of crackers in the soup and salads. Crush and mix with the likes of tuna casserole chicken /. I've never had to freeze them I can not say how crunchy they are when you leave. Do not let them go to waste. Bon appetite.

I would freeze them in small packages, but only before use. If you freeze a recipe that uses them, they taste bad and be really soft. You can also crush them and make a great coating for chicken or fish or even pork chops. If the crumbs are very fine and mixed with cinnamon and sugar, they make a very interesting coating that works well on French toast or fried bananas.

I think the chips do get soggy when they thaw, condensation in the freezer .... Place a clip "chip" on the bag, or put the bag in a large ziploc bag and keep in the pantry. You can use crumbled chips as a breading for chicken or tilapia ... throw in the taco salad ... use it for toppings on casseroles ... put a little coleslaw

You can keep them longer by dividing them into small plastic bags (gallon size) and stored in a large plastic Tupperware-type container.
I love crushed and used as a topping for casseroles and with Chile and beans, hot dogs and beans, etc.

You can keep them in the freezer (chips) if you are using a recipe they get soggy when you thaw - crush them and their use in meatloaf, burgers, salads, soups or you can have yourself a baby party due and invite family and friends - *** *** Congratulations

Taco salad! Who does not like taco salad? It's like eating tacos without shells, just use your chips to pick up and eat! Meat is the only thing that should be cooked and can be heated etc. All the rest is minced.

Make and eat nachos. You can reheat the stale chips in the oven and they will be your c.
